Psychedelic Integration Coaching
Psychedelic Preparation & Psychedelic Integration Resources
Psychedelic integration coaching focuses on helping a person integrate their psychedelic experiences for emotional and psychological benefit.
Psychedelic integration coaching is different from psychedelic-assisted therapy. A psychedelic integration coach does not participate with the client in their psychedelic experience:
- they don't supply psychedelics or connect a person with sources for psychedelics
- they are not present during a person's psychedelic experience,
The resources below can help you prepare for, engage with, and integrate your psychedelic experience.
Psychedelic Preparedness Scale (PPS)
Preparedness assessed by this tool falls into four areas:
- Knowledge-Expectations
- Psychophysical-Readiness
- Intention-Preparation
- Support-Planning
Knowing your score can help you decide on actions to maximize your psychedelic experience from a harm-reduction perspective.
Note: Complete the PPS Assessment BEFORE your psychedelic experience. Access the free online Psychedelic Preparedness Scale here and see your results instantly: https://psychedelicsupportcoach.com/psychedelic-preparedness-scale-pps/
Flexibility Index Test (FIT-60)
It is critical to develop your psychological flexibility before your psychedelic experience.
Why?
Your psychedelic experience is fluid and dynamic. Your psychedelic experience potentially shines a spotlight on both your bright and dark sides. Your psychedelic experience can be impacted by the rigidity to which you hold on to your intentions, expectations, and goals. The more psychologically flexible you are, the more open to the psychedelic experience you will be, the more accepting of unwanted feelings or thoughts that might arise during the psychedelic experience, and the more likely your intention will manifest. Psychological flexibility can help you avoid a “bad trip” because you are resisting what may come up during your psychedelic experience.
Through the FIT-60, modern psychology can actually measure how psychologically flexible you are.
This validated tool has sixty questions to help determine your psychological flexibility along with how you score on six subscales of the ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) Hexaflex model
Note: Complete the FIT-60 Assessment BEFORE your psychedelic experience. Work with a coach or counselor to identify and integrate strategies that can increase your psychological flexibility (share your FIT-60 results with them). Then, take the FIT-60 again to measure your progress.

Mystical Experience Questionnaire (MEQ-30)
The Mystical Experience Questionnaire is a validated, reliable tool to assess your engagement in a psychedelic experience.
Areas assessed by this tool falls into four areas:
- Mystical
- Positive Mood
- Transcendence of Time and Space
- Ineffability
Scores on the MEQ-30 during a psychedelic experience are important because a series of studies have shown that higher scores on the MEQ=30 during the ‘trip’ are one of the strongest predictors of beneficial outcomes weeks and months later for both distressed & healthy participants. Typically, a ‘complete mystical experience’ is defined as scoring 60% or more on all four MEQ30 subscales (Barrett et al, 2015), although some subsequent research has suggested that simply assessing the total MEQ30 score may well be just as good (Bouso et al, 2016).
Note: Complete the MEQ-30 IMMEDIATELY AFTER your psychedelic experience.

Watts Connectedness Scale (WCS)
The Watts Connectedness Scale will help you assess your connectedness to yourself, to others, and to the world. Psychonauts have long espoused that the psychedelic experience brings about a deep feeling of connection. The Watts Connectedness Scale will help you articulate those feelings of connectedness.
Further, if used before and after two weeks following a psychedelic experience, this tool could show how the experience changed you.
Unlike other tools in the psychedelic toolbox, you use the Watts Connectedness Scale twice then compare your results to gain insight into your level of transcendence of your connectedness.
Note: Complete the WCS Assessment BEFORE and AFTER your psychedelic experience.

Psychological Insight Scale (PIS)
Deeper connections are just one of the cited benefits of psychedelic experiences. Insight is another.
But how do you measure psychological insight? The Psychological Insight Scale can help you do just that.
This validated tool has only seven questions to help provide meaningful measures of any insights you might have gained from your psychedelic experience.
Note: Complete the PIS Assessment AFTER your psychedelic experience.
